I’LL TELL YOU IN PERSON @ Perth Festival 2021

You can sit across from someone but have no idea what’s going on in their head. It can be hard to talk honestly. You know how it is – differences of political opinion, discomfort with conflict, the fear that telling the truth will destroy the tender world you share. Award-winning artists Jeffrey Jay Fowler and Sarah Reuben, with sound designer Max Juniper, bring you an intimate audio experience about the booms and busts of friendship.

‘I see you. What’s it been – ten years? A decade. It must have been a decade. You have wrinkles. Not heavy creases but expression lines – evidence of where you’re going to grow old. They’re new. Or at least, they’re new to me. Then I realise you’re looking at the new wrinkles on my face too.’

You and a friend are invited to put on a set of headphones and listen to the story of two people finding and losing each other and finding each other again. Once the story has been told it’s up to you and your companion to unravel what went unsaid.
