2022 Lunar New Year Guide | Year of the Tiger

Chinese New Year celebrates the beginning of the new year according to the traditional lunar calendar. These dates change every year depending on the calendar.

Chinese New Year celebrations typically start on the evening before the new moon, and end on the evening of the full moon 15 days later (Lantern Festival). Every day of the festival will have its own set of traditions.

Lion Dance Performances | Where to watch?

Lions are important to Chinese mythology, they bring joy and happiness, traditional lion dance performances are the most spectacular part of Chinese New Year. Accompanied by percussion music of drums, cymbals and gongs to ward away evil spirits.

 

Tip: When the lion walks past, brush your hand against its fur, and then, keep it in your pockets for good luck!
