June's Food Spot... Win-Win Supermarket

On a nondescript street in Girrawheen, inside a seemingly unremarkable local Asian supermarket, you’ll find a Burmese woman and her family cooking, selling and packing away delicious family recipes to sell for the day.

Throughout the day, this tiny Girrawheen spot sees a steady stream of Burmese patrons from all over Perth coming for delicious noodle soups, curries and chutneys. Ashley, her friendly son, greets everyone as they come in. Some customers rush to the fridge to grab and go. Most filter to the right of this small supermarket to a very homely dining area with limited tables and seating.

You simply place an order with Ashley at the counter and wait to be served through a hole in the wall for your food.

Looking in, the busy kitchen is buzzing with activity, boiling pots full of broth and hardworking family putting out great food with love at a steady, continuous pace.
