Kids In Perth’s 2021 Winter School Holiday Guide
By Cassandra Hart, Editor @ Kids In Perth 13 Jul 2021
We’ve reached the mid-year break at long last, and I’m sure the kids are itching to go out on some adventures! Here are a few cool things happening around town these school holidays that we think families will love…
Must see's and do's
Trampolines, parkour & more
If your kids are little ninjas who love to jump on, climb up and flip off everything in the house, why not give the couch a break and take them to Flip Out. They’ll have a flippin’ great time showing off their tricks at this awesome trampoline park in Mandurah. You can book 1 or 2 hour sessions or their special school holiday ‘flip & skate’ package which includes a 2 hour jump session at Flip Out and 45 minutes ice skating at the eastern foreshore. Bring the whole family along and make a day of it.
3-D Mini Golf Experience
Just because it’s the school holidays it doesn’t mean the grown-ups can’t have fun too – this is an experience mum and dad will love just as much (if not more!) than the kids. Glowing Rooms is mini golf on another level. Their entire 18-hole course is painted wall-to-wall with amazing 3D glow-in-the-dark artwork. When you pop on their special glasses, all of the images come to life and the golf balls appear to wiz around in mid-air. Invite some mates and the families can go head to head!
Brickwrecks: Sunken Ships in LEGO® Bricks
Get some LEGO® building inspo and learn the stories of some of the world’s most fascinating shipwrecks at the WA Maritime Museum. Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught and his team spent over 1,600 hours, used over 153,000 LEGO® bricks, and had a tonne of fun bringing these models to life. Some are between 1 - 3 metres in length and include the Titanic and Batavia.
Swan Valley Adventure Centre
Kids can experience the great outdoors at one of Swan Valley Adventure Centre’s Winter Day Camps. They can spend a full or half day (depending on their age) participating in various activities the centre offers. These holidays the Winter Day Camps are themed ‘the Olympics’ and are packed with heaps of fun activities including archery, nature walks, rope climbs, flying fox, beach volleyball and more!
ECU Kids’ Holiday Sports Program
The ECU Kids’ Holiday Program is a sports-based program for primary school aged kids between 5 and 12 years. Running as full day and half day programs, children will participate in a variety of different activities - from traditional ball sports to special event activities.
Ice skating in the city
Enjoy ice-skating, snow showers, a pop-up bar & kitchen and the magical igloo village at the Ice Cream Factory in Northbridge.
