“As a recipient of a Catholic education with now over forty years of experience working in Catholic schools, I retain a passionate commitment to ensuring our learning and faith sharing community is an authentic and vibrant Catholic school. As a parent and a grandparent, I also empathise with those discerning which school to entrust their children.

We are extremely proud of the over 120 years of achievement and traditions established by the dedicated families and staff, in collaboration with the Sisters of Mercy. The College offers an education for life, one that values mind, body and spirit.

As a Catholic school community, we also offer our students several very important challenges – to develop a deeper awareness of themselves, of God and of others and to live lives more fully based on the values taught by Jesus. Excellent staff, facilities, grounds and resources at each of our two campuses provide ample opportunity for students to excel in areas of curriculum, leadership and the sporting, cultural and religious life of the College.”

Founded in 1990, Ursula Frayne Catholic College is a diverse, co-educational school that operates across two sites in the Town of Victoria Park: the Balmoral Campus in East Victoria Park for Kindergarten-Year 6 students and the Duncan Campus in Victoria Park for students in Years 7 – 12. Committed to the holistic development of young people, Ursula Frayne Catholic College’s mission is to empower all students in the pursuit of excellence in their life-long learning journey.

To cater for students’ specific education needs, Ursula Frayne has established four separate sub schools:

Preparatory (Kindy – Year 2)

Driven by a commitment to provide a nurturing approach, stimulating classroom environments and a comprehensive early childhood education, the Preparatory School crafts programs that seek to satisfy children’s needs holistically. Their state-of-the-art Early Learning Centre is an open plan learning space that allows purposeful play, direct sensorial and physical engagement, serendipitous moments, and exposure to the acquisition of knowledge across many different processes. Specialist teachers in Student Support, Health and Physical Education, the Arts and Library provide the students with a diverse range of experiences that enrich their learning.

Junior School (Years 3 – 6)

In Junior School, emphasis is given to developing independent learners with skills in higher-level thinking, problem solving, communication and social interaction. Specialist teachers in the areas of Music, Physical Education, Languages (Italian or Japanese), Library Studies and Student Support assist classroom teachers and students to achieve this. Further opportunities in STEM projects and other technological advancements mean Ursula Frayne continues to engage in learning that is both current and purposeful.

Middle School (Years 7 – 9)

The Middle School provides academic rigour in the core subjects while stimulating the interests of students with an exciting array of elective subjects. It is designed to provide students with a unique learning environment with academic, co-curricular and pastoral care programs that are sensitive to the developmental needs of youths. Ursula Frayne’s Middle School aims to assist all students to achieve their potential as they move along their learning journey and to foster an environment based on harmonious working relationships, responsibility and mutual respect.

Senior School (Years 10 – 12)

Preparing students for life beyond secondary school is a key focus in the Senior School. This preparation incorporates three interrelated aspects: the spiritual dimension, the pastoral dimension, and an individual academic focus promoting rigour and excellence. Their aim is for students to exit the College feeling positive, self-assured and with the confidence to face the future with hope and optimism. Teachers support and challenge every individual student to develop their skills and abilities, helping them to achieve their maximum potential no matter their chosen vocation.
