It’s been a long, 11 week term (that included Naplan for some!) and lots of kids are counting down the days to their well-earned time-off over the school holidays.  If they have a bit of a sweet tooth and you want to treat them to something extra special to mark the end of term/start of holidays, here are a few of our favourite sweet treats that we think they will love…

Grab a sweet or savoury waffle cone from Muffle™

muffle

Muffle™ is an Australian company based in Perth which specialises in fresh baked Muffle™ - puffy waffle cones filled with delicious savoury and sweet ingredients. They have two locations: one in the Fremantle Markets and other in Raine Square in the City.  Make a whole day of it by visiting one of the museums or cruising the shops before munching down your tasty treat.

Share a Monster Donut from Honey’s Bakehouse

honeys-bakehouse

This family owned and operated bakery in the hills creates a range of delicious treats, but what made us turn our heads (and salivate!) are their amazing 1kg Monster Donuts that come in all sorts of flavours: Toblerone, Malteser, Tim Tam, Crème Brulee, Banoffee, Vegan Jam, Brownie, Peanut Butter, Jam & Cream, and Custard & Cream – oh my!  This take-home, share treat is sure to bring the ‘wow’ factor – but you will need to plan ahead and pre-order yours a few days in advance.

Enjoy an Almond Croissant from Chu Bakery

CHU-Bakery

Pop in, grab one of their delicious baked treats (we recommend the almond croissant!) and a cup of hot chocolate and before strolling across the road to leafy Hyde Park to enjoy a quiet afternoon tea over-looking the lake.

FRY’D™ ice-cream, Leederville

fryd-icecream

From food truck to its flagship Leederville store, FRY’D™ takes the traditional fried ice-cream you’d find in Chinese restaurants to the next level.  They have staple menu items like Nutella and Oreo s, and also release limited edition flavours like pandan and coconut.  So delish’!

Ice-cream sangas at Get Chunky, Mt Lawley & Vic Park

get-chunky

Can’t decide between an ice-cream or a cookie?  Why not both?  Get Chunky’s ice-cream sangas are what sweet dreams are made of.  First you select one of their gooey chunky cookies, then your ice-cream, followed by 3 toppings.  Put it all together and mwah!

Pancakes on the foreshore at Eye Scream Café

You can’t go past the classics sometimes, and a plate of warm pancakes dusted with icing sugar and topped with ice-cream is a foolproof cheerer-upper.  Walk it off with a stroll along the beautiful Rockingham foreshore.

Handmade choccies and a cup of tea at Chocolate Drops

Nestled in in the heart of Yanchep National Park is the nostalgic Chocolate Drops shop.  When you step inside the store you’ll feel like you’ve taken a step back in time.  All their chocolates are handmade each morning and displayed in rows of glass jars the wooden shelves.
