Koru Collective’s baby yoga nurturing the baby mother bond
By Kids in Perth, Editor 02 Dec 2020

‘Growth, new life, peace and strength’ are the underlying principles of Koru Collective Wellness in Perth founded by Rachel Blair over 5 years ago.
From her Maylands studio she offers classes in Breathwork and Yoga based around the Sacred Breath Method. One of the most popular classes is Baby Yoga for 8 weeks to crawling babies, which focuses on touch and movement along with postnatal yoga for mums, promoting bonding and communication between the two.
The Baby yoga class uses different poses and positions to promote baby’s health, wellbeing and development. The fun and safe active play in the form of swings and dips also help to develop baby’s body awareness and control, whilst the well-known songs support language development and enhanced communication between mother and baby. Mums also benefit as after the baby yoga sequence, they get to enjoy some time improving their own strength, flexibility and tone in a safe and gentle way.
Be still, be present, enjoy the connection between mum and baby.
