More than just sailing at East Fremantle Yacht Club

Getting out on the water and breathing in the fresh air is great for the mind, body and soul – and yachting is the perfect opportunity to do just that while also getting fit and having fun!

East Fremantle Yacht Club is a family friendly, recreational boating club that provides a home away from home to those who love all things water. Situated at the foot of Petra Street on the banks of the Swan River, members enjoy world-class facilities and are part of a community of like-minded-boating enthusiasts.

They offer both Senior Memberships (which includes access to the on-water facilities) and Social Memberships. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced, young or old, East Fremantle Yacht Club offers courses suitable for everyone.

Courses for Kids:

Tackers 1 & 2

Tackers is a fun introductory, games-based sailing program designed for kids aged 7-12 years. Kids don’t need to have any sailing experience or club membership to participate, however they will need to be able to swim 25 meters unassisted to complete this course. All the equipment, including the boats is provided. The Tackers Program is delivered in small groups by an Australian Sailing Qualified Instructor and Assistant Instructors

Out There Sailing

Out There Sailing, is a new & improved program incorporating sailing, stand-up paddle boarding & power boating. This program is aimed at 12 – 17 year old’s who would like to try dinghy sailing, keelboat sailing, stand up paddle boarding & powerboating. Out There Sailing also focuses on the social element of a club environment, simply enjoying time spent with friends whether that be on the water, on the beach or in the clubhouse. The program provides a social environment for teenagers to cultivate real friendships with others from their local area, whilst potentially igniting a love for sailing in the process!

Courses for Adults:

Adult Dinghy

The Adult Dinghy course is designed to provide a safe & enjoyable introduction to small boat sailing for novices 18 years & older. This course will provide participants with a wide range of skills, a sound understanding of the responsibilities of the helmsman & crew, as well as knowledge of the marine environment.

Adult Keelboat

Start Crewing / Helming is designed for people with little or no sailing experience, who want to get a taste of sailing, as well as those wanting to take their skills further.They also offer courses for the more serious sailors.

Breaky Before Boating…

You can’t get out on the water with an empty stomach, so East Fremantle Yacht Club is now open for a-la-carte breakfast from Wednesday – Friday from 7.30am – 10am for both members and non-members. Choose from a delicious range of healthy & classic breakfast options from their a la carte menu, or grab a juice or coffee & cake & enjoy the amazing view from the balcony. They also offer a Buffet breakfast on Sunday’s from 8am – 10am. If you choose to become a member, you will have access to the bar and restaurant until 9pm Wednesdays to Sundays.

Overlooking the gorgeous Swan River, East Fremantle Yacht Club is the ultimate waterfront venue for your next private function. Their function rooms are open to both members and non-members for hire.
