Spare Parts Puppet Theatre brings Show Day for first time to Claremont Showgrounds this April!

An action-packed puppet show sees Spare Parts Puppet Theatre premiere at Claremont Showground!
WA's most adored puppet company returns to regular performances for Perth families, presenting the world premiere of Show Day at the Claremont Showground for the April school holidays from April 8, 2023.
Show Day is a riotously funny celebration of Australian rural life as an energetic community prepares for the most anticipated event of the year—the Annual Agricultural Show!
Featuring one of the most dazzling casts of puppets in Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s 41-year history, Show Day captures the joy of the carnival atmosphere as it follows competitors in wood chopping, sheep dog trials, show jumping and much more, as they come together for one day to do their best at the things they love.

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre Associate Director Michael Barlow said, “the wonderful thing about an Ag Show is there’s something to enjoy for people of every age. Everyone is welcome at Show Day and we can’t wait to welcome audiences to sit around our miniature showground and join in the fun.”
The premiere season of Show Day will be presented at the Ellie Eaton Theatre, accessed via Gate 1 at the Claremont Showground. The show is a rip roaring 50 minutes and perfect for ages five and above.

It’s that once a year day – yes you guessed it – it’s Show Day! Grab the kids and get ready for a rip-roaring roller coaster ride of fun. Woohoo!
Take a seat in the grandstand and feel the anticipation as you cheer for family and friends competing in the most exhilarating day of the year. Hear the whack of the axe as it chops the wood, the baa of the crazy sheep as the dog expertly rounds them up and watch in awe as the horses clear those tricky jumps.
Come celebrate in the heart-warming glow of Show Day and be enchanted by a carnival of puppets. Oh, and keep an eye on the cheeky chooks – we hear they are planning an eggscape!
