Goodstart Early Learning has been named an Employer of Choice by the Australian Business Award 2023.

Goodstart was founded in 2010 as a social enterprise by four leading charities that understood the power of early learning to transform the lives of children.
Today, Goodstart Early Learning are Australia’s largest provider of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC). And so, they have the power to lobby government on behalf of the sector, which they do, all year-round.

“For every $1 we invest at Goodstart in our targeted social purpose investments, $5.50 of value is returned to children, families and the community.” says Dr Ros Baxter.

Goodstart's leadership and management campaign to improve laws and policies that affect quality early learning. Their goal is to ensure universal, affordable access for all and to protect children.

Great pay and financial incentives

Simply put, Goodstart cares about its people and... the proof is in the paycheck.

In July, centre-based employees received the biggest pay rise in the organisation’s history.

Last year, Goodstarters accessed employer-funded paid parental leave for the first time which... will be increasing for 2024.

Goodstart also increased the childcare discount for cooks and educators – up from 15-30 per cent to 50.

For added tax benefit, Goodstart staff are able to get their Goodstart childcare fees taken out of their pay before it hits their account.

Plus, Goodstarters can now access rostered personal wellbeing days.

Not only is Goodstart offering above-award wages, but they’ve increased non-contact time and flexible work arrangements, too.

They never stop working to make things better, wanting to recognise and support their people as best as possible.

Every year, Goodstart head office sends out a sense-check survey to employees and managers will take action based on feedback.

Over the past two years, managers have been listening to what Goodstarters need. And they continue working to implement more benefits and better conditions.

Inclusivity and innovation to the core
