Children’s Week is an annual celebration of children, held across Australia around the fourth Wednesday in October. In 2022, Children’s Week runs from 22 – 30 October.
Children’s Week celebrates a child’s right to enjoy childhood. Thousands of children and their families around the country are involved in activities and events through the participation of schools, playgroups, childcare, kindergartens, cultural groups, libraries, and community groups.

Children’s Week is centred around Universal Children’s Day, a day that calls everyone to consider and respond to the plight of many millions of children around the world who are denied the basic necessities of a happy childhood and the education to develop. It also encourages everyone to consider how we all impact a child’s development, and how we can help ensure a positive future.
Children’s Week is the perfect time to get involved with your local community events celebrating children and childhood.
