How Forte Music’s teaching philosophy unlocks the complete performer inside your child
By Marnie Adams, Contributor @ Kids In Perth 09 Oct 2022
“It starts with training a child’s ear to have exceptional listening skills.”
Says David Statham, principal of Forte School of Music as he leads us through a tour of the facilities.
Imagine being taught how to pick out and perfectly play the note on any instrument as a child.
Then have an amazing array of wonderfully different instruments laid out in front of you to explore… How good would you have been at music? That’s Forte School of Music.
Pick out any time of day at one of Forte School of Music’s many locations, it's an amazing space where children are learning music not just playing piano, violin, drums or guitar… They learn music.
Isn’t the voice just another instrument?
From training the ear in babies and toddlers in the morning with the Jungle Music program. Through the hustle and bustle of after school and into the evenings, there’s always a lot of singing and instruments playing all the time which makes Forte School of Music a really joyful place.

Finally, Forte School of Music recognises that most of a child’s learning is done at home so they have a Practice Buddy app created to reinforce what kids learnt during lessons. Say goodbye to traumatically boring musical sheets and drills from your childhood for your child but rather replacing it with fun and interaction.
